Former Major League Baseball players and Texas Rangers teammates Drew Robinson and Ryan Rua were at EHOVE on January 26, 2023 for a presentation as part of EHOVE's Drug Free Leaders. They discussed Robinson's April 2020 suicide attempt and the effects on their lives and friendship with the entire high school student body, along with messages of hope and support.
After the event, members of EHOVE's Drug Free Leaders were able to stay for a group photo, autographs and individual photos with the pair and Robinson's sweet service dog, Ellie. Robinson is now a mental health consultant for the San Francisco Giants and Rua is a Director of Baseball & Hitting Instructor for T3 Performance.

EHOVE’s Drug Free Leaders is an optional leadership program offered to all EHOVE students. It provides them with the opportunity to learn about leadership, character and the community while participating in drug screening to maintain their membership. Throughout the school year, members also participate in random, confidential drug testing.
