Superintendent Chris M. McCully is sharing an inside look at EHOVE’s $210 million facility project through this new overview video that highlights its long-term benefits for students, employers, and the community.
Expected to be completed for the 2029-2030 school year, the facility project started with a simple question, "What does EHOVE need to look like to serve students and employers for the next 50 years?" The project was shaped through conversations with business leaders, community members, staff, and other stakeholders to ensure EHOVE continues preparing students for today's workforce and tomorrow's opportunities.
The video features more details on how EHOVE's campus will expand from approximately 280,000 square feet to nearly 600,000 square feet with new buildings, technology and equipment. Construction is taking place in phases, allowing education to continue uninterrupted. Although visitors may occasionally use a different entrance as construction progresses, community services will also continue, including the restaurant, café, salon, and other student-operated services.
"Career tech education is good for students, good for business, and good for our communities," said McCully. "The facility project is about creating learning environments that match the careers our high school and adult ed students are preparing to enter both today and in the next decades. We all rely on the skilled workers who keep our communities running ... from automotive technicians, cosmetologists and chefs to healthcare providers, construction tradespeople, and public safety personnel. Those future professionals are being trained at EHOVE."
EHOVE collaborates with employers throughout Erie, Huron, and Ottawa counties to develop a skilled workforce that meets regional employment needs. "Our mission remains the same: preparing the future workforce for in-demand careers through skilled, hands-on education," McCully said. "What we're building is more than a campus. It's an investment in our students, our workforce, and the future of our communities."
