EHOVE Career Center is proud to announce that Chris McCully has been named as the school’s next superintendent.  When McCully joins the EHOVE team on August 1, he will become the career center’s fifth superintendent in its 51 year history.

“I’m excited to build on EHOVE’s solid foundation of being student-centered, connected to the needs of the workforce, and vital to the local economy and community,” said McCully.  “I’m not looking to change what’s already working. Instead, I hope to bring something new as an addition to the school’s growth.”

A professional background with a broad range of experience in career tech and K-12 education has provided McCully with a solid understanding of students and their environments.  Prior to becoming Assistant Superintendent at Polaris Career Center in 2007, McCully was Associate Principal at Strongsville High School, Elementary Principal at Surrarrer and Wilcox Elementary Schools, and Student Coordinator, Coach and Math, Science and Language Arts Teacher at Morton Middle School.

McCully led the design and development phase of a $54 million renovation at Polaris Career Center, and will manage oversight of EHOVE’s facilities project already in progress.  Since 2006, enrollment at EHOVE has grown 35% in the high school and 122% in adult education. EHOVE has started a $13 million facilities project to renovate and expand culinary arts, public safety, education and media center areas in the school, projects all necessary for EHOVE students to have access to relevant skills and equipment in their career fields.

North Point Educational Service Center conducted the search for a new superintendent after Sharon Mastroianni, superintendent since 2006 who had served a total of 34 years with the district, announced that her retirement will take place at the conclusion of the current school year.

“In Chris McCully, the Board has found the perfect replacement for our superintendent, Sharon Mastroianni,” said EHOVE Board of Education President Dr. Paul Lockwood.  “Chris brings a vast background of hands-on career technical experience. We look forward to his leadership and direction as EHOVE begins its next 50 years of service to the community and its schools.”

McCully earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University and a Masters of Science in Education from University of Dayton.  He holds professional licenses of superintendent, elementary principal, secondary principal and elementary (1-8) teacher.

He is a member of Association for Career Technical Education, Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development, Buckeye Association of School Administrators and Ohio School Boards Association, and a former member of Kiwanis and Rotary International Clubs.

Married to Megan, an art teacher, since 2007, they have three children that complete their family.  His 26 year old stepson, Josh, works in the food industry. A daughter, Cora, is a University of Cincinnati sophomore majoring in medical sciences, and son, Collin, is a high school sophomore.

McCully’s contract with EHOVE is for two years and includes an annual salary of $129,000.
