High School: Tech Prep Programs

Tech Prep

What the heck is Tech Prep?

Through federal legislation, TECH PREP was introduced in 1990 to address the need for a high tech workforce in the 21st century. Students in TECH PREP programs receive technical training and their college degrees and industry certification at a faster pace, filling key occupations sooner.

TECH PREP programs combine challenging high school and college classes with technical lab experiences.  EHOVE, BGSU/Firelands and Terra Tech work together to provide this unique experience for  these students.

This year's seventy seniors collectively earned more than 1,345 college credit hours - credits that can be transferred to any college in Ohio.  This saved their families approximately $ 285,000 in college tuition.... not to mention the cost of their text books.

But it is not all work; TECH PREP students have competed in a number of regional competitions through Business Professionals of America, Future Educators of America, Skills USA, Tech Prep Showcase and the Maverick Robotics competition.

Tech Prep gives students a head start on college and their future careers.
