Legal Careers - Tech Prep

Collaborative Program of EHOVE Career Center and BGSU/Firelands College

Legal Careers allows students to explore multidisciplinary legal professions and current research through on-site observations at a variety of law enforcement and/or legal facilities.

This TECH PREP program begins in the 11th grade and continues through an Associate degree or Bachelor degree at a post-secondary school.  Free college credit may be earned in both the junior and senior years.  Students will also have the opportunity to take classes at BGSU Firelands during their junior and senior years.

Head Start on Degrees in:

TECH PREP Acceptance Guidelines

 

For acceptance into the Legal Careers TECH PREP program, you should have:

  • Interest in Legal Careers
  • Maturity to work independently and in teams
  • Desire to pursue a college education
  • High School junior
  • "C" or better average in Algebra
  • 2.5 or better overall Grade Point Average (GPA)
  • Good attendance
  • Recommendation of high school counselor or principal

Final acceptance is determined through an interview with TECH PREP staff members and acceptable scores on college placement tests.
