New administrators for a new year

EHOVE Career Center is welcoming a new administrator and happy to announce that one of its own teachers is transitioning to the team, too.

Elizabeth Becher of Wellington has been named Assistant Principal for the 2015-2016 school year.  She is taking over the position from Rod Smith, who is moving to Margaretta Local Schools as Principal.

A graduate of Wellington High School, Becher earned a Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication from Miami University and Master’s degrees in Educational Administration and Curriculum & Instruction from Ashland University.  She currently is a Business & Technology teacher at Columbia High School, but previously worked at Lorain County JVS and Medina County Career Center.

A resident of Wellington, she and her husband, Mike, have two children.  In her spare time, she enjoys quilting, gardening and spending time with her family.

Also for the upcoming school year, Kelly Bodkin of Milan will be the school’s Assistant Director overseeing the health, technology, business and cosmetology programs.  She will be filling the position from Erika Beckman, who has been named EHOVE’s Principal for next year.  Beckman is filling the position of Dale VanLerberghe, who is retiring after 40 years in education.

Bodkin is a graduate of Bedford High School and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Career & Technical Education from University of Toledo and a Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Ashland University.  She currently is EHOVE’s Forensic Investigations Instructor and previously was a Police Officer with Cedar Point Police Department and a State Trooper with the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

She also has been very involved with community service and volunteer activities as a resident of Milan and with EHOVE students in SkillsUSA.  Bodkin and her husband, Gregory, EHOVE’s former Criminal Justice Instructor, have been married for 22 years and two children.  In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, reading and scrapbooking.
