Join the robotics team!
Now is your chance to join EHOVE's Robotics Team. The Mavericks are a well respected team in the FIRST Robotics world. Last season, EHOVE's team won the regional competition and made it to the quarterfinals of the international championships. They also have been honored with design and innovation awards from engineering professionals.
EHOVE’s team is mostly comprised of several EHOVE students in the Engineering Tech and Industrial Tech programs but there are also several others on the team. Students in grades 9-12 from any of EHOVE's 16 partner schools or local homeschooled students are invited to attend a meeting on Monday, December 16 at 5 pm in the Fab Lab at EHOVE. Team members do not have to be EHOVE students.
The start of the season and the team schedule for the upcoming season will be discussed at the meeting. Anyone who is interested in joining the team should attend this meeting.
EHOVE’s team is also the House Team of NASA Plum Brook Station. This formal arrangement will help NASA accomplish its mission to engage, inspire and support science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) educational outreach activities, while also providing the team with engineering mentors, tools and parts they may need and the ability to cover the cost of registration at FIRST Robotics events.
In addition to NASA Plum Brook, many local businesses are also important contributors to the team’s success. Sponsors that include Sierra Lobo, Bettcher Industries and Riley Contracting also sponsor the team with funding which allows them to purchase necessary materials to build and maintain the robots each year.
If you are interested in joining but unable to attend the meeting, please contact Jim McIntyre at 419-499-4663 x264 or Daniel Langdon at 419-499-4663 x263.
