Shannon Ebert, an alumna of EHOVE’s Visual Media Tech Class of 2013 and Perkins High School, joined the Visual Media Tech class today as she shadowed instructor Dustin Lowery. Ebert earned 62 college credits prior to graduation, which helped her graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Findlay before even turning 21. She is now pursuing a Master’s degree in Workforce Education & Development from Bowling Green State University and may continue toward a Ph.D.
“EHOVE gets you ready for being a functioning member of society,” said Ebert. “I definitely want people to understand the importance of developing professionalism and the professional skills you need and the importance of just being ready for college and a career,” said Ebert.
Ebert plans to pursue a career in economic and community development. “I want to help students figure out what they do earlier and partner with a place like EHOVE to develop programs and make connections with home schools and area businesses,” she said.
While at EHOVE, Ebert broke the record for college credits earned before graduation and was very involved in sports at her home school and many activities through EHOVE, including: volleyball, basketball, BPA President, EHOVE blogger, EHOVE ambassador, honor roll, perfect attendance and state BPA awards, and a large number of other activities and awards.
Ebert has also interned with the Cleveland Browns and Findlay Hancock County Economic Development, the latter of which she says reaffirmed her passion for her future career plans.
