Occ. Ther. Asst. Graduation

In partnership with Lorain County Community College (LCCC), EHOVE Adult Career Center is proud to announce the graduation of the second class of Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) students.  Through this partnership between the two schools, students take science, theory and application classes at EHOVE’s campus and use clinical sites in a multi-county area, before they earn their Associate of Applied Science Degree from LCCC.

This year’s students hailed from Erie, Lorain and Cuyahoga Counties and were part of LCCC’s 50th graduating class.  The students spend the last semester of their program at two clinical sites for a total of 16 weeks, working and learning as a full time occupational therapy assistant.

After completion of the 24 month program which includes 16 weeks of full-time field work and coursework in Anatomy and Physiology, Psychology and Sociology, the students are eligible to take the National Certification Examination for Ohio Licensure.  Several have already done so and are awaiting results.  Many students have already received job offers in this high demand career field.
