Move ahead with your GED

Don’t have your high school diploma, but want a chance to get a good job with good wages?  Get your GED by taking the official test at EHOVE Adult Career Center.

Appointments are now being scheduled now.  When scheduling, you may choose to take one or more sections at a time.  The available testing categories are Reading/Language Arts, Science, Social Studies and Math.  The cost is $30 each.  Those taking the test for the first time can request a voucher to cover up to $80 worth of testing.  Career counseling is provided prior to issuing the First Time Test Taker voucher from the Ohio Department of Education.

“We are so pleased to be a test site for the GED,” said Student Services Coordinator Deb Presser.  “Our campus is conveniently located and testing times are offered during both daytime and evening hours.   We know that most area employers require job candidates to have at least a high school diploma or GED.  We hope everyone who needs this valuable credential does not wait any longer.”

Presser said that many ask how to prepare for the test.  EHOVE and Norwalk City Schools Adult Basic Literacy Education can provide information on resources and there are also online resources such as www.GED.com.  The 2014 GED®program gives you everything you need for success and MyGED™ will help get you there. With MyGED, you receive unprecedented support before and after you test. Conveniently register and schedule 24/7. Pay as you go and test on what you want, when you want. Plus, find prep tools to help you prepare for test day and resources to help you move forward to what’s next.

“While the first step is often the hardest, it may be the best decision you ever made,” said Presser.  “Once you have your GED, many doors will open.  Imagine yourself securing better employment.  Imagine yourself returning to school to get a license or a certificate or even a degree.  Our motto at EHOVE is Your Future, Your Career.”
