As part of the Manufacturing Showcase on October 24, representatives of area business, non-profit, government and education organizations toured key manufacturing facilities in the area. After the tour, they met at EHOVE Career Center in Milan Township for a presentation about the skills gap in America’s workforce and workforce information from the State of Ohio’s Manufacturing Extension Partnership Director James Ruble.
They also heard directly from a panel led by Norwalk Furniture Human Resources Manager Eric Ebinger. The panel featured recent career tech and college graduates who work in local, successful manufacturing careers. They discussed their education and need for more qualified workers in their career fields. The showcase was hosted by local economic development organizations in Erie, Huron, Ottawa and Sandusky Counties. Photos from the event are available at
