A new career in cosmetology

If you are interested in becoming a Hair Stylist, Nail Technician, or Beauty Salon Owner, sign up now for the next Cosmetology program at EHOVE Adult Career Center.  Enrollment is open now.  Students in EHOVE’s program will learn how to design, cut and color hair, and care for skin and nails.  The program will prepare them with what they need to know to earn the State Board of Cosmetology License.

“EHOVE Adult Career Center’s program has special curriculum designed to help students pass their exams,” said Cosmetology Instructor Regena Vanover. “The creative design allows students to participate in a five week long internship in area businesses.  Field trips to gain even more experience have also been a large part of learning in the adult program.”

Cosmetology is very diverse and anyone can practice in many areas. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, this field is projected to increase 13% through the year 2022. “The completion of the program allows students to start businesses upon graduation and work alone in a salon,” said Vanover.  “They also graduate with advanced skills allowing for immediate placement in businesses that request EHOVE graduates.”

If you or someone you know would like to enroll for the next Cosmetology program, contact EHOVE Adult Career Center at (419) 499-4663 x280.  Applications are being accepted now.  Financial aid is available to qualified students.  More information is available at on the Cosmetology page or on the program's Facebook page.
