Visual Communication Design teaches skills essential for promoting products or services in the form of brochures; flyers; posters; hat, shirt and specialty-item design. Experiences include freehand and computer illustration, advertising layout and design, digital photography, and color theory. Particular emphasis is placed on image creation and manipulation through computer software such as Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator .

A variety of work-based learning experiences are available to all students at EHOVE. These include job shadowing, guided mentorship during the summer (5th Quarter), and senior job placement. Students with high attendance and grades may be released from school to earn and learn on the job during their senior year.

Get Involved

Visual Communication Design students will become members of Skills USA VICA, an association of trades and industry students. Skills USA VICA allows students to participate in competitive events, fund-raisers, community service projects and social chapter activities.
