Acceptance Guidelines

We expect students to be successful in earning a diploma from their high school while learning skill training in their chosen career field at EHOVE Career Center.

These guidelines help us to ensure that both goals are met.

ACCEPTANCE

• 8 required academic credits earned or currently enrolled
• 20 or fewer absences in the 9th and 10th grade ~ 30 or fewer absences for Senior Programs
• GPA of 2.0 or higher
• Limited discipline concerns

APPLICATION PENDING

Students who meet all criteria but have only 7 academic credits may have their application pending until the applicant successfully completes a Summer School course in order to fulfill the 8 required academic credits.

Students who have the possibility of meeting the attendance, GPA and/or discipline criteria may have their application pending until the parent and student agree to meet with an EHOVE Career Center Administrator and Counselor to develop a plan to succeed at EHOVE.  The plan must be approved by the Associate School Principal in order for the student to be accepted at EHOVE Career Center.

NOT ACCEPTED

Students who have not met the criteria listed above will be more successful earning their high school diploma by remaining at their high school and pursuing skill training after graduation.

Another option for students not meeting the acceptance guidelines is EHOVE's Fast Forward program. Talk to your Associate School Counselor about this credit recovery program.
