  • Become aware of the do’s and don’ts of effective resume writing
  • Learn to write compelling cover letters and thank you notes

2. Building Bridges
    May 1, 2008

This workshop is designed to provide information on informational interviewing, networking and finding Mentors.

Participants will ….

  • Learn what informational interviewing is
  • Understand why it works
  • Learn what a mentor is
  • Identify the two types of mentoring that occur
  • Seeking mentors in the workplace
  • Learn approaches to networking

3. Putting Your Best Foot Forward
    May 8 and May 29, 2008

This workshop is designed to provide information to the job seeker on Personal Presentation for Employment.

Participants will learn to make a positive first impression through the following:

  • Appearance
  • Attitude
  • Manners
  • Application Completion

4. Playing by the rules
    May 15, 2008

This workshop is designed to provide information on learning the written and unwritten rules of employment, employer expectations and importance of having a positive work ethic.

Participants will ….

  • Become aware of the importance of dependability to an employer.
  • Understand the effect of employee behaviors on rules.
  • Recognize the importance of unwritten rules.
  • Learn the Five Principles of a positive work ethic.
